ในวันศุกร์ที่ 28 ธันวาคม 2555 คณะกรรมการสถานศึกษาโรงเรียนแม่อ้อวิทยาคมร่วมกับผู้ปกครองนักเรียน กำนันผู้ใหญ่บ้านตำบลแม่อ้อ อำเภอพาน จังหวัดเชียงรายร่วมกันจัดผ้าป่าข้าวเปลือกเพื่อพัฒนาการเรียนการสอน โดยมีนายพิทักษ์พงษ์ คำน้อย ประธานคณะกรรมการสถานศึกษา เป็นประธานในพิธี ซึ่งได้รับความร่วมมือจากบุคลากรโรงเรียน ผู้นำชุมชน ผู้ปกครองนักเรียน นักเรียนและผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เป็นอย่างดี
